A little more about me:
Hello my name is Nikki! My mother’s artistic abilities definitely inspired my interest in drawing, painting, and crafts when I was younger. In elementary school and middle school kids always asked me to draw things for them, or write their names in ‘fancy fonts’ – I never really thought I was cut out for heavy-duty art though.By the time I was in high school I was more interested in drama and choir… which brought me to learning how to apply stage make-up to myself and my classmates. One year at summer camp, one of my bunkmates taught me how to make friendship bracelets. That same summer I saw a girl getting henna applied to her skin, and it caught my interest. By the next summer – my friends in high school and at camp were paying me for my friendship bracelets to put henna on their arms and legs! Once in college I took a few art classes but again, didn’t really feel like I had any drive for it, so I continued on my way to getting my bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. In 2009 after I graduated, I was hired at a video store in my home town. When working there I decided to paint the window one night for Halloween, and people ranted and raved about it for the time it was up. At Christmas time, I decided to paint the windows again utilizing some holiday-themed-movies. People continued to compliment my windows, and I started to think that maybe I was neglecting strengthening a talent I had all along.
By the next summer, I had painted the windows a few more times, and was approached by my manager to face paint for an event… I had never face painted before, but I thought I might be good at it. After that I bought some more face paints, and started to beg my friends to let me practice on their faces. Not long after that, people started to ask me to face paint for events, paint windows, do their hair, make custom bracelets, paint murals in their homes, and paint pieces of art. I’m very flexible when it comes to getting the client what they want and my goal is for everyone to be very satisfied with my services, and have a great time as well! Face Painting, Body Art, Henna, Princess Party Hair, Maternity Body Art, Window Paintings, Murals…. Adults, children… you name it, and I’m all about it. :)
